Alberta law allows any shade on windows behind the driver (rear sides and back glass), but NO aftermarket tint on the front side windows or windshield — and no visor strip either, because Alberta’s regulation has no AS-1-line exception. Rear-glass tint also requires outside mirrors on both sides. Illegal front tint draws an on-the-spot fine and fails inspection. For front-window heat control we offer an optically clear IR film (no visible darkening) that cuts up to 95% of infrared heat. No. Unlike older metallic films that interfered with signals (we don’t install those), nano-ceramic tint uses non-conductive particles that are signal-friendly for GPS, cellular, Bluetooth, and radio — and it has zero effect on backup cameras or heated rear windows.

It depends on the shade and film quality. High-quality ceramic at 35% or 50% VLT keeps excellent clarity from the inside out; cheap dyed films go murky. For heavy winter night driving we steer people toward lighter shades — and the fronts stay clear by law anyway.

A full 4-door sedan takes 2–3 hours; trucks and SUVs with larger glass take 3–4 hours. Most vehicles are done same-day with a morning drop-off.

Wait 3–5 days after installation in warm weather, 5–7 days in winter cold. The mounting solution needs to evaporate and the adhesive to cure — rolling down early is how edges start peeling. Light haze during the cure window is normal and clears on its own.

Yes, but it may not look 100% perfect. The dot matrix is a raised ceramic frit; film can't sit fully flush between the dots, which often creates a faint light border. That's normal physics on most vehicles, not an install flaw — and we'll point it out before we start.

Summer is when tint pays off most — June–August sun and high-altitude UV — and warm weather cures the film faster (3–5 days vs 5–7 in cold). But we install year-round in a heated studio, and a winter install means you're ready before the first heat wave.

Two layers: the film manufacturer warrants the film itself against fading, purpling, and delamination, and our lifetime workmanship guarantee covers the install — if an edge lifts or a bubble appears, we redo the panel free. The film warranty is registered to the vehicle and carries to the next owner.
