Beginner 3-Day Intensive (Sat, Sun, Mon)
Start From Zero

Foundation Track

The entry point. You arrive with no film experience and leave able to prep a vehicle to a film-ready standard, cut a pattern and lay a flat panel that holds its edges. Every session is on a real vehicle in the shop, not a training board.

Upcoming Classes

When It Runs

Classes are kept deliberately small, so a week fills and stays filled. A sold-out week still takes names — we call the waiting list first when a seat opens.

Day By Day

The Curriculum

Dated against the October 3 – 5, 2026 cohort. The shop is closed Fridays, so a Friday inside a course week is a rest day rather than a teaching day.

Day 1Film, Tools and the Workstation

Saturday, October 3
  • What PPF actually is: TPU layer, topcoat, adhesive and liner
  • Gloss, satin and matte — what each finish does and who asks for it
  • Building a workstation: lighting, water supply, blade discipline
  • The squeegee kit, and what every tool in it is for
  • Slip and tack solutions: what each one does and the ratios that matter

Day 2Surface Preparation and Flat Panels

Sunday, October 4
  • Reading paint: swirls, chips and defects to settle before film goes on
  • Wash, clay and chemical decontamination to a film-ready standard
  • IPA wipedown discipline — why contamination surfaces days later
  • Squeegee angle, pressure and overlap across a flat panel
  • Hands-on: door panel and roof section, edge to edge

Day 3Cutting, Finishing and Inspection

Monday, October 5
  • Pattern software basics: find the vehicle, send the plot, weed the cut
  • Bulk cutting by hand where no pattern exists
  • Tucking edges and working around handles, badges and trim
  • Tack-down, drying and what "cured" actually means for a handover
  • Quality inspection standards and the customer walkaround

Shop hours are Sat-Thu 9am-5pm. Teaching days run to the shop day.

Outcomes

What you'll be able to do

  • Identify film types, finishes and construction, and explain them to a customer

  • Decontaminate and prep a panel to a film-ready standard
  • Install a flat panel edge to edge with clean, consistent edges
  • Send a plot to a cutter and weed a pattern without damaging it
  • Inspect your own work against a written quality standard
Before you start

Prerequisites

  • No prior PPF experience required
  • Comfortable working on your feet for a full shop day
  • All tools, film and practice vehicles provided
